The purpose of this position is to support the compliance team in maintaining survey readiness, accurate documentation, and efficient office operations. This role specializes in medical records management, admission documentation review, and administrative support for compliance audits and quality initiatives.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains physical charts for all new admissions per CMS/CHAP requirements.
- Audits and uploads admission consents and advanced directives to MatrixCare.
- Maintains and organizes the medical records room for survey readiness.
- Supports compliance team members with admission audits and follow-up tasks, including document review and tracking corrections.
- Tracks completion of compliance-related documentation (e.g., consents, non-coverage forms, F2Fs) and escalates issues as needed.
- Compiles audit data for reporting and assists with QAPI preparation.
- Coordinates logistics for compliance meetings and education sessions.
- Manages medical records requests and ensures timely response.
- Collaborates with ARNs, HCLs, and compliance RNs to resolve missing or incorrect documentation.
- Assists with other compliance and administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Education and Compliance.
- Minimum of two years’ experience preferably in hospice or health care setting, or graduation from a one- or two-year college preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and EMR systems (MatrixCare preferred)
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Must be at least 18 years of age
